Zonard

December 10 the new album Zonard was launched.

The Zone, the ‘frayed’ ring around Paris, which provided shelter for various population groups between the end of the 19th century and the 1950s. Expired ‘temporary’ housing characterized these outskirts of the city. A twilight world where intellectuals and artists roamed around to experience the selfedge and get involved with whores, vagrants and petty criminals.   The attraction of the Zone was enormous, because it had all the characteristics of a free state.

The Zonard was born.

This fact provided the inspiration for this album. A search for the edge of the creative process, exploring the landing site and then immediately moving on into improvisation as a means and sometimes as a goal in itself. Combining fragmented impressions into a whole. The 7 tracks are the results of unexpected exits and dead end streets that turned out to be a satisfying endpoint. Meetings with unknown consequences and continuous recording of the impresions they left behind.
